What to expect

A guided session, explored at your own pace

You lie down with your eyes closed, accompanied by a sound journey created with intention. The experience unfolds at your own pace, without needing to analyse, control or perform.

You explore with curiosity, through direct experience, observation and listening to what is present. Sensations, emotions, images or stillness: what unfolds is yours.

The session

What happens in a session

A session at Sonotarium
  1. 01

    Arrive

We begin together in a circle, taking time to arrive, connect and settle into the space.

  2. 02

    Experience

You move into your own space, usually lying down with your eyes closed. A sound journey, frequencies and facilitation create the conditions for your experience to unfold.

  3. 03

    Share & close

We return to the circle and make space to share, reflect and reconnect. Sharing can take many forms: words, sensations, impressions or simply being present with the group.

What might I experience?

  • Sensations

Changes in bodily awareness, temperature, vibration, pressure, tingling or other sensations.

  • Emotions

Feelings may arise, shift, move through or open into emotional release.

  • Images & memories

Images, visions, memories, childhood recollections, associations or impressions may surface.

  • Thoughts & perception

Thoughts may become more noticeable, perspectives may shift, and you may experience a heightened awareness of the mind.

  • Movement & stillness

Spontaneous movement, twitching, gestures, expansion and contraction, deep rest or stillness may arise.

  • Something difficult to name

Some experiences can move beyond familiar language: a sense of transcendence, connection with something larger than the individual, or a more collective or cosmic dimension of experience.

All ways of experiencing are welcome. What unfolds is personal to you.

Who it is for

Come as you are

Dreamwave welcomes people at different stages of exploration. Curiosity and openness are enough to begin. No experience, intention or preparation needed. Everything is allowed within your own boundaries, and you remain responsible for your own experience.

We meet each person as whole and complete.

How the space is held

  • Sound

An intentionally designed sound journey, built primarily from sounds and noises, creating a multilayered and vibrationally diverse soundscape.

  • Facilitation

A facilitator holds the space with presence and attention, and may use voice, instruments or intuitive touch.

  • Space

Each person has their own experience while also contributing to the atmosphere of the space.

Before you come

What is helpful to bring

Curiosity and openness are enough to begin. You will spend time both sitting in a circle and lying down, so bring:

  • your own yoga mat
  • comfortable clothing
  • enough layers to stay comfortable for the whole duration: body temperature can change
  • water if you need it

The session lasts 1 h 30, including the opening and closing circles.

Frequently asked questions

Before you book

What is a Dreamwave session?

A Dreamwave session is a facilitated, embodied experience rooted in innerdance. Participants spend time together in a circle before moving into an intentionally created sound journey, usually lying down with their eyes closed. Sound, frequencies, facilitation and the shared space create conditions for each person’s experience to unfold.

What might I experience?

Experiences can include sensations, vibrations, emotions, memories, images, thoughts, shifts in attention, spontaneous movement, stillness, or experiences that feel larger than the individual. What unfolds is personal to you.

What should I bring?

Your own yoga mat, comfortable clothing and enough layers to stay comfortable for the whole duration, as body temperature can change. You may also bring water.

Do I have to share my experience afterward?

The closing circle offers space to share, reflect and reconnect. You can express your experience through words, sensations, impressions or other forms that feel natural to you. Simply being present with the group is also part of the closing.

How much is a session?

You choose the rate that suits you: accessible ($44), regular ($55) or contributor ($66). You can pay online when you book, or by Interac e-transfer to communitydreamwave@gmail.com with your name, the session and your rate in the notes. If even the accessible rate is a barrier, write to me directly at hello@thedreamwave.org.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

Tickets are non-refundable. If you cannot come, write to us before the session: your ticket can be transferred to another date.

I would like to talk before booking.

Write to us at hello@thedreamwave.org. If you are going through something particular, or simply want to talk first, we will take the time to connect before your booking. Pregnant people are welcome.
